Struggling Is Part of Life
Frustrated, anxious, and tired of struggling?
No matter what you try, nothing seems to get better?
Let’s Look at Jim
Jim rolled over and shut the alarm off. “It can’t really be time to get up already”, he thought. “Why can’t I ever get enough sleep?” He got out of bed dreading the day. “I don’t know how much longer I can keep this up.”
Jim got dressed and went down to the kitchen where Liz was sitting at the table eating breakfast. He said hello, kissed her on the cheek, and grabbed some breakfast for himself. As they ate, they had a short conversation about what each was doing that day. He finished getting ready and left for work.
Jim got to work on time and sat down at his desk. He let out a deep sigh as he started in on his tasks for the day. It’s not that his work was bad; it was okay, and he was good at it. It paid the bills, but it had been a long time since he felt any excitement about what he was doing. The days seemed to run into each other. Again, he thought, “I don’t know how much longer I can keep this up.”
This is an Opportunity.
Jim has a choice about what he does—life is offering him an opportunity to grow stronger. Jim can face adversity—regardless of level – and come out of it a more confident, wiser, happier person.

The word Trust usually makes me think of a quote from Risky Business. I don’t remember the context, but one of the characters says, “Seems to me if there were any logic to our language, Trust would be a four-letter word.” This comment made me...
What is Trauma?
Trauma, put bluntly, is something that happens to a person that they experience to be less than nurturing. I know that this sounds to be victimy, snowflake, BS thinking. And if it is used as an excuse for people’s poor behavior, I might agree....
